With corneal astigmatism, the cornea has two different curvatures set at 90 degrees to each other. This causes light rays to refract at different strengths. Instead of a single focal point, this refractive error creates “focal lines,” resulting in a distorted image on the retina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
