Blurred vision after eye lasers – What Doctor-medic Bányai says about it
How long blurred vision lasts after laser eye surgery depends, among other things, on the chosen laser eye procedure and can last from a few days to several weeks. Your ophthalmologist will inform you about the duration of blurred vision after laser eye surgery and should be consulted in case of prolonged blurred vision.
Blurred VISION AFTER FEMTO-LASIK?
After laser eye surgery using FEMTO-LASIK, blurred vision can occur for a short time. This side effect occurs mainly due to swelling of the cornea, which undergoes a small incision during the procedure.
In FEMTO-LASIK treatment, the surgeon uses a femtosecond laser. This laser treatment is mainly used for refractive errors such as nearsightedness and farsightedness as well as corneal curvatures (astigmatism).
The FEMTO-LASIK procedure is considered extremely reliable. Nevertheless, regular follow-up examinations, refraining from applying make-up to the eyes and adhering to a drip schedule are important in order to avoid undesirable side effects such as infections or to detect them at an early stage. Any blurred vision after FEMTO-LASIK SHOULD DISAPPEAR in the first few days after laser eye surgery. Otherwise, for example, a touch-up may be necessary to optimize vision.
Blurred vision after the PRESBYOND®procedure?
Blurred vision after the PRESBYOND®procedure can occur especially in the first period after eye surgery. Especially in the first two days, the vision of patients can fluctuate – in total, the healing process and the necessary adjustment take about three to four months. These fluctuations are due to the different correction of the right and left eye. Here, the dominant eye is usually corrected for distance, the non-dominant eye for proximity and both eyes for the intermediate area.
A possible side effect of the PRESBYOND ®procedure, which is used for presbyopia in conjunction with nearsightedness, farsightedness or presbyopia, is the cross-blurring. Those affected report reduced visual acuity at close range in the meantime. For this period, it may make sense to use a visual aid. Once
Looking blurry after Advanced PRK or LASEK?
After an Advanced PRK or LASEK treatment, it takes a few weeks for vision to stabilize. While dressing contact lenses can be removed after about five days, check-ups are also necessary, as is the use of eye drops in consultation with your trusted ophthalmologist. This is to ensure optimal healing of the corneal tissue.
Blurred vision for eyes Lasers with SMILE® PRO?
Blurred vision after laser eye surgery using the SMILE® PRO method should resolve within the first few days after surgery.
SMILE® PRO is a particularly safe method for laser eye surgery, which is mainly used for myopia and corneal curvature. Dry eyes or a foreign body sensation can occur after the procedure, and a burning sensation in the eyes can also occur in the first few days. Decreased visual performance may also occur. However, this should have normalized after a short time and then steadily improved.

Blurred vision after ICL procedure?
After an ICL procedure, reduced vision and blurred vision may occur for a short time. An increased formation of tear fluid can also occur, as well as a foreign body sensation or a burning sensation in the eyes.
Blurred vision after an ICL procedure can show up especially in darker light conditions, but should not last more than two weeks.
Looking blurry after Clear Lense Exchange?
As with other methods of refractive surgery, the Clear Lense Exchange can lead to side effects such as dry and burning eyes in blurred vision. The latter, however, usually improves very quickly, so that a noticeable improvement in visual performance can already be observed on the day of the procedure.
A clear lens exchange can be used to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness and presbyopia, but also to treat cataracts that have clouded the natural lens of the eye.
Conclusion: Blurred vision after laser eye surgery
Seeing blurry after laser eye surgery is completely normal in many surgical methods and is not an immediate cause for concern. How long the blurred vision lasts depends on various factors – such as the surgical method used or the individual healing process. If there are irregularities such as a prolonged deterioration of vision, you should not hesitate to contact your ophthalmologist.
